About Us

We are Consulta Europa

We are an SME specialised in the management of research, education and innovation projects based in the Canary Islands, a Spanish outermost region located near the Moroccan coast, in the Atlantic Ocean. Consulta Europa was born in 2009 as a private local development agency and knowledge centre with the aim of providing innovative solutions at the European Union (EU) level for local problems in general and more specifically for the Canary Islands.

We have the capacity to create programmes and carry out research activities for private, public, for-profit, and non-profit entities, in line with European policies. We also organise events, conferences, lectures and trainings on European policies, management and development of European projects.

Our work focuses on smart, social and sustainable development, drawing evidence from international cooperation projects. We also promote knowledge transfer with a systematic approach, considering social innovation and circular economy as essential elements, always with a gender perspective.

We have experience in the framework of several EU projects funded by programmes such as: the Seventh Framework Programme, the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, Erasmus+, Interreg Europe, Horizon 2020 and, more recently, Horizon Europe, among others.

Our mission

Consulta Europa connects and facilitates collaboration between organisations seeking to generate a positive impact through European Union (EU) funds and programmes. Our long experience working in Brussels with the EU institutions and the experience of operating from an outermost region such as the Canary Islands enhance our perspective. Having a systemic approach and the fact that we have an international and multidisciplinary team allows us to add value to everything we do.

Our vision

  1. We see social and community development, economic progress and care for the environment as a set of interrelated elements that respond to a common goal, and this translates into our working environment.
  2. Our research, education and innovation projects integrate different disciplines and methodologies while involving different actors, resulting in the achievement of intelligent and sustainable solutions that have a real social impact, through which we ultimately seek to respond to global challenges.
  3. We have a training vocation, so we organise and participate in dissemination events, we train different types of actors on the areas of knowledge in which we specialise, such as policy implementation or the management and development of European projects.
  4. We analyse and extract evidence from the international projects in which we work and transfer this knowledge and good practices to our environment.

Erasmus+

The European Commission has launched the Pact for Skills, a shared engagement model for skills development in Europe. To support a fair and resilient recovery and deliver on the ambitions of the green and digital transitions and of the EU Industrial and SME Strategies, the Commission invites public and private organisations to join forces and take concrete action to upskill and reskill people in Europe.

As a member of the Pact, Consulta Europa signed up to the Charter and its key principles, which we agree to respect and uphold. Read more

European Alliance for Apprenticeships

The European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) unites governments and key stakeholders with the aim of strengthening the quality, supply and overall image of apprenticeships across Europe, while also promoting the mobility of apprentices. These aims are promoted through national commitments and voluntary pledges from stakeholders.

Consulta Europa joined the Alliance’s platform for sharing experiences and learning from best practices. We contribute to the Alliance with new ideas and initiatives as well as sharing our experiences and technical know-how. We also share the latest news and tools on apprenticeships.

By joining this network, we would like to ease the transition from education and training to work for our apprentices. Through this agreement, we offer a company-based training to learn valuable workplace skills in a professional environment, which we believe ensures a greater degree of future employability.
